Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures decline on trimmed positions

New Delhi: Aluminium prices declined by 60 paise to Rs 272.80 per kilogram in the futures trade, as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in December fell 0.22 per cent in 893 lots. Analysts said the cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
Copper futures slip on low demand
Copper futures fell Rs 4.85 to Rs 1,010.65 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. Copper futures for the December contract eased 0.48 per cent in a business turnover of 4,025 lots.
Zinc futures fall on weak trend
Zinc prices fell 0.08 per cent to Rs 298.05 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for December delivery traded lower by 25 paise in 815 lots.
